PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield is now the home of a new Fitness Premier 24/7 Club, an around-the-clock fitness franchise. With its grand opening set for Dec. 14, the location will be the fifth in Illinois.
Franchise owner Eric Greenhill acquired his newest location, at 16108 Illinois 59 in Suite 126, which was formerly a local gym, on Aug. 9. The gym had a soft opening about eight weeks after, officials said.
The Illinois-founded, group-workout gym offers guests the same amenities they might expect to find at a full-service gym but with the community of a boutique studio, according to a news release. People looking to exercise have access to a full line of Life Fitness and Hammer Strength Equipment, live or virtual group classes, and personal or team training.
“The thing about small towns is everyone who wants to workout goes to the same place,” Greenhill said in a statement. “Everybody is in classes together. It’s a community. 2020 was a tough year for everyone, but in 2021 and in the future, I think people are going to be more invested in their health, and we’re excited to provide an outlet for that in Plainfield.”
The Plainfield gym marks the franchise owner’s fourth opening in 2021, a feat he credits to an innovative model “that brings engaging group fitness classes to suburbs and small markets typically ignored by other major gym brands.”
His other locations can be found in Minooka, Coal City and Homer Glen as well as in Cedar Lake, Indiana. The latter three Fitness Premier gyms opened in 2021.
Even though he operates several locations, Greenhill said he still visits each club at least twice a week.
“I want to make time for my customers and staff,” Greenhill said. “People like to know that the owner is accessible and will talk with them about what’s working and what’s not. You won’t find that at most gyms.”
Overall, Fitness Premier owns 14 locations throughout Illinois and Indiana, and it’s growing fast.
“We are thrilled to bring Fitness Premier 24/7 Club’s services to Plainfield,”, the franchise’s CEO, said in a statement. “Our model is all about being a resource for the community and being there to help people reach their goals. This is a great community with a huge demand for what we have to offer, and we couldn’t be more excited to get started.”
